Chairman of the Cross River State
chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council, Mr. Goddie Akpama, has called
on politicians in the state to desist from attacking a former Senate
Majority Leader, Chief Victor Ndoma-Egba.
Ndoma-Egba had come under attacks by
some members of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic
Party over his recent visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, Akpama told our correspondent on Thursday that such a visit ought not to have attracted a negative outcry.
He said, “Strangely, their attacks have
been on the person of former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba. Even
though he led other prominent personalities across various parties on
that courtesy visit, these critics have concentrated their attacks on
him
“Understandably,
they are scared of his towering profile, believing that President
Buhari, whose knack for quality leadership is legendary, might shun
party affiliations and call on Ndoma-Egba to serve in his government.
“As Cross River State is striving to
effectively be a part of the central government, we must jettison the
propensity to pull down our illustrious sons and daughters.”
